Job Title: Utility Project Manager (S4 Finance Project Experience)

Engagement Type: PAYE

Location: Windsor, UK

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (One office visit per week to start)

Rate Payable to Contractors: £400 per day

Assignment Duration: 6 Months

Job Purpose:

Manage the end-to-end delivery of an S4 Finance project, ensuring successful project outcomes from ideation through to go-live and warranty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle, from ideation and budgeting to obtaining financial approvals, stakeholder management, project governance, risk management, and delivery planning in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Oversee the production and delivery of required project deliverables.
  • Plan, monitor, and control project progress, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon objectives and timelines.
  • Implement delegation and project assurance roles within established reporting structures.
  • Develop and maintain project, stage, and exception plans as needed.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing contingency plans where necessary.
  • Coordinate with program management and related projects to ensure work is not overlooked or duplicated.
  • Monitor overall progress, resource utilization, and initiate corrective actions as required.
  • Apply change control and configuration management processes.
  • Report on project progress through regular highlight reports and end-stage assessments.
  • Liaise with project assurance representatives to ensure project integrity and direction.
  • Maintain awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and manage their impact.
  • Apply appropriate technical and quality standards to the project.
  • Ensure business requirements are accurately captured and reflected in user stories aligned with sprint goals.
  • Conduct project evaluation reviews to assess project management effectiveness.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in managing S4 Finance projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management with proven communication and influencing skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of both agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Proven track record of project delivery, ideally with experience in the utilities sector.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and quick thinking.
  • Effective risk management and planning skills.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, with an understanding that detailed requirements may not always be clear at the start.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure all stakeholders are aware of key risks, constraints, and resolutions.

Experience Required:

10+ years of relevant project management experience.
