Fund Accountant

The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting and administration on a portfolio of private equity investment funds under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, including the bookkeeping of all transactions, and the preparation of quarterly reports and statutory financial statements
- Assist with the completion of investor, client and audit queries
- Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions
- Prepare drawdown and distribution calculations plus notices on an ad hoc basis when requested by clients
- Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping
- Prepare and input payments for routine expenses, investment transactions and distributions to investors
- Assist and support the induction, integration and training of Trainee staff
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
- The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level)
- Computer literacy skills are essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be support through the Aztec Academy)
- Some previous experience of training or mentoring junior staff is beneficial
