Job Title Graduate Naval Ships Manufacturing Engineer

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate Programme you will be required to attend your site 4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

We design and build a full range of naval ships from offshore patrol vessels through to giant aircraft carriers, giving customers the capability to fulfil extensive naval operations around the world. What you will be doing

As a Graduate you would be expected to be involved in a number of areas of the Operations function in order to develop a broad understanding of a Manufacturing, Operations, Facilities and Production roles.

You’ll be able to get involved at all levels of the business, from solving manufacturing problems on the shop floor, through to working on facility strategies or managing your own improvement projects.

We also provide the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of your primary remit. We encourage you to seek a stretch project in which you’ll gain different experiences. Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for liaising with planning and other technical departments.
• Responsible for developing innovative process solutions.
• Develop and mentor new employees and team members.
• Responsible for identifying own development opportunities.
• Understand, develop and implement greater customer and external relations
• Be involved in the research, piloting, rollout and delivery of value adding projects
• Be hands on and recognised as a productive member of multiple teams

Skills

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Production Engineering Management, Product Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

On commencement of employment you will be paid a one-off non-consolidated lump sum payment of £2,000 (the “Welcome Payment”).
