Electronics Engineer - 00114878

Broad Oak - Portsmouth

£50,000 to £55,000 (depending on your experience and skills)

You'll be focussing on the electronic aspects of torpedo design, repair, and maintenance & have the chance to work on complex projects at different stages of development and to contribute throughout the lifecycle in part of the wider Underwater Weapons team.

You will be:

  • Designing and developing electronic assemblies from start to finish
  • Updating existing designs and incorporating new technology
  • Supporting off-site trials
  • Conducting tests on customer platforms
  • Turning requirements into detailed designs
  • Selecting components, creating schematics, and assisting with PCB layout
  • Specifying unique items for purchase
  • Analysing fibre optic systems using specific tools

You need:

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in defence or high safety environments
  • Design experience for volume production using computer-aided engineering
  • Proficiency in analogue circuit analysis and signal processing
  • Ability to integrate systems and troubleshoot issues

Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of Fibre Optics, Power Electronics, or Test & Measurement
  • Experience advising PCB layout for EMC considerations
  • CEng accreditation or working towards it
