Platers required on a project in the Ellesmere Port area

Some of the duties you will have include:

  • Reading and inetrpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical specifications.
  • Measuring and marking out the dimensions and shapes of metal components.
  • Cutting and shaping metal plates, using tools such as shears, saws, or torches.
  • Forming and bending metal plates to the required shape using techniques like rolling or press braking.
  • Preparing and aligning metal components for welding or other joining methods.
  • Welding or bolting metal parts together to assemble structures.
  • Checking the accuracy and quality of fabricated components using measuring tools, such as callipers or guages.
  • Performing repairs or modifications to existing metal structures as needed.
  • Operating and maintaining various tools and equipment, such as cutting machines, grinders, and welding machines.

Essential-

  • Trade qualification - Time Served L3 NVQ or equivalent
  • CSCS / ACE / CCNSG
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable-

  • Previous experience of working outages / shutdowns within the EFW and CCGT power industries is preferred.
  • 3 years experience in a similar role & industry experience preferred.
  • Confined Space Medium Risk.
