Taylor Hopkinson have been retained to source a Regulatory Lawyer for a global renewable energy IPP.

Our client has an extensive and diverse portfolio of energy assets on a global scale; committed to the contribution the enhancement of global standards of living, industry, and economy by fostering an internationally competitive supply of power and energy.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a high-performance team, focusing on energy offtake and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will provide counsel and negotiate essential agreements in the renewable energy sector, focusing on strategic off-take arrangements and other regulated contracts. These include contracts for difference, corporate power purchase agreements (both financial and physical), as well as grid connection and proximity agreements.
  • You will be an integral part of the offtake strategy definition.
  • You will collaborate with and receive support from the public affairs and regulatory team.

Required Experience:

  • You will be a fully qualified lawyer (bar exam equivalent), with excellent academic credentials and extensive legal experience.
  • Proven experience in an international law firm or organisation.
  • Passionate about the renewable energy industry and energy markets.
  • You have profound diplomatic and social skills; thriving on building relationships with stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English (additional language skills, particularly French, Dutch or Japanese) advantageous.
