Job Overview

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect with substantial experience in the Risk and Compliance domain to join our team. This role involves driving the design and standards across various Risk & Compliance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating robust frameworks and solutions for significant compliance initiatives such as BCBS239 and strategic corporate actions like the sale of HSBC Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural efforts for complex Risk and Compliance programs, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement comprehensive frameworks and solutions that enhance the integrity and effectiveness of Risk and Compliance functions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders within Risk and Compliance IT, including direct interactions with service line heads and key program leads
  • Drive innovation in Risk and Compliance practices by incorporating advanced technologies and methodologies.
  • Ensure that all architectural designs and implementations uphold the principles of risk management and regulatory compliance across all operational facets.
  • Act as a key advisor and subject matter expert (SME) to senior management on architectural strategies that best serve organizational goals and compliance mandates.
  • Document all architectural frameworks and solutions in detail, ensuring that they meet internal standards and external regulatory guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture with a strong focus on Risk and Compliance within major financial institutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements applicable to financial services, specifically BCBS239 and related standards.
  • Experience in designing and leading architecture in complex scenarios such as major corporate divestitures or acquisitions (e.g., sale of HSBC Canada).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Ability to produce detailed architectural documentation that meets both internal and regulatory standards.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., TOGAF, CISM) is preferred.

Additional Information

  • This is a contract position inside IR35. Applicants must be prepared to work within the stipulations of an inside IR35 contract in terms of payment and tax obligations.
  • The role allows for flexible work locations between the UK and India, with expectations for regular collaboration with teams across these regions.
