Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
however, this is a flexible hybrid working arrangement with an expectation that some time will be spent visiting our sites across the Yorkshire region. We have a permanent opportunity for Asset Planning Sponsor position to join the Wastewater area of the Asset Management department at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the regions health, wellbeing, and prosperity.

Asset Management (Waste) are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Asset Planning Sponsors within Yorkshire Water are accountable for the realisation of desired outcomes and benefits from any investment. They provide the governance link between the organisations senior managers and the management of each project.
Asset Planning Sponsors work closely with our Service Delivery business unit to understand business risks and ensure mitigations and interventions are developed to enable achievement of the Companys Performance Commitments. As our Asset Planning Sponsor, you will be responsible for:

Owning the Concept and Definition phases to ensure the risk and solution are fully understood.
Ensuring the Scope as defined at the end of the Definition phase meets the Business Need and is delivered through the Project lifecycle (time, resources, benefit realisation).
Providing any required support to Gate 2 (definition) and Gate 4 (financial approvals).
Agree escalation triggers with the Project Team.
Identify and confirm training requirements.
Support the Project Manager during all project phases.
Agree scope of Investigation with Project Team ensuring it will provide the right information to confirm solution requirements at Gate 3 (Defined solution).
Respond to escalations when requested by the Project team.
Understanding the project risk profile and the mitigation plans
Agreement of changes to time, cost, and quality.
Take part in the Project Review Process
Engineering and/or Science/ process knowledge and experience of relevant asset base and its operation.
Risk Management experience (IAM certificate desirable)
Detailed Understanding of Performance Commitments.
Business Process Understanding of End-to-End Process for Project.
Ability to understand root cause analysis.
Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points)
