Project Manager (defence)- Permanent - Kidderminster - £50,000 + Benefits
Shorterm Group are current working with a leading Anglo-French company specializing in the design, development, and manufacture of propulsion tactical missiles. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with Aerospace/Defence experience to take charge of the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring alignment with company strategic goals, commitments, and business targets.
Generate, maintain, and deliver project plans in support of bids for new business.
*Define, generate, and execute project plans for contracted work, including development, production, or research projects.
*Enhance project value and margin through proactive risk management.
*Report on project progress internally and to customers.
*Manage, monitor, and motivate cross-functional team members assigned to projects.
*Collaborate closely with customers to understand business requirements, fostering effective working relationships and ongoing project management processes.
*Proven experience in planning, managing, and delivering production, development, or technology projects involving small to medium batch manufacturing of discrete and complex products and sub-components. Experience with developmental activities where project parameters can change is desirable.
*Strong commercial and financial acumen.
*Project Management software tools such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
*Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
*Demonstrated experience in effective risk mitigation.
*Background or experience in managing projects within an engineering-focused environment is advantageous.
*Up-to-date knowledge and experience of the defence industry are desirable.
Recognised Project Management qualification/accreditation (e.g., Eligible for hybrid working - up to 1 day a week after completing a 6-month probation period.
