By doing so, we revolutionise the sector at its core and we create efficiencies for lenders and also for borrowers, credit investors and ultimately for the entire eco-system.
For the past decades, increasing regulatory pressures on banks have reduced their lending to the real economy, especially to small & medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Many ‘non-bank lenders’ such as peer to peer platforms, specialist lending companies and credit funds have filled the void. However, most of these lenders operate in an old-fashioned way. Data is not connected or centralised. The kennek systems captures all the data relating to the loans and borrowers and serves as single point of truth for the lenders and ultimately for the entire eco-system.
We launched in the summer of 2021 and have since grown our team to over 25 kennekters, mostly in London. Our customer base is expanding rapidly & we’ve got some world-class venture capital investors backing us.
This is the first finance hire and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to building the finance function together with the CFO while in parallel executing a broad range of finance tasks. As such there will be opportunities to grow further as the company grows and expands.
This challenging and exciting role covers all facets of the finance function including day-to-day payments, overseeing the outsourced accounting, financial modelling and forecasting, management and investor reporting and execution of fundraises for the company alongside the CFO.
Prior relevant experience in a financial role is essential: minimum 4 years’ experience in a finance role in an early-stage company or in investment banking or consultancy.
You have excellent numerical and analytical skills, including financial modelling in excel.

️Managing the bookkeeping and accounting with our outsourced accounting firm.
Ownership of day-to-day finance tasks including expense management, payments, invoicing, etc.
Overseeing production of annual accounts and application for R&D returns with the CFO.
Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting: maintaining and updating the financial model of the company.
Financial control: monitoring actual financials versus budget.
Management information: drive accountability across the company by measuring, monitoring and reporting KPIs and KRIs.
Work closely with the CFO on the preparation and execution of fundraising process from producing the data room to having investor meetings and deciding on the cap table composition.
Work on special strategic projects (e.g. new corporate entities, business lines, M&A, etc.)
Ensure continuous improvement of the finance function.
