QBE Europe is currently recruiting for an assistant accountant to join a well-established and successful finance team in our Stafford office. In this position you will be accountable for processing, analysis and reporting of financial transactions and information. Assisting with general accounting, and preparing various management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis ensuring accuracy and consistency of underlying data.



Policy, Process and Procedures
Ensure training and knowledge is up to date. This includes but is not limited to mainframe applications and general insurance accounting.
Technical Performance
Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records in accordance with internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
Undertake month end activities such as reconciliation of key control accounts and analysis of accounts to ensure correct procedures are followed.
Any ad-hoc investigation/project work successfully completed on time.
Be a part-qualified accountant (for example ACA, ACCA or CIMA)"or equivalent or have relevant years of working experience.
Have an good understanding of best-practice accounting (in an insurance environment preferred,"although strong candidates from other industries will be considered)
Have good working knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools.
Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel
