What you'll do
  • Accountable for the development and delivery of customer focussed great tasting Greggs products to a brief and PLM timescale, defined by the commercial category plan and front page business plan
  • Responsible for EPD of products / maintaining product quality on CSI and procurement led projects
  • Accountable for defining and monitoring product quality on all products and to meet the Greggs brand standards
  • Support the analysis of food trends, competitor insights, and market data to support and inform short- and medium-term commercial category plans and product briefs
  • Brief and develop great tasting products of consistent quality which meet Greggs PLM process in line with the front-page business plan and to meet costs
  • Ensure new and redeveloped products are Greggs Brand compliant, meet nutritional requirements and policies and additive policies (including clean label). Support delivery of responsible sourcing policies to deliver our health and sustainable menu and pledge commitments
  • Define, protect and continuously improve product quality and processes through routine quality monitoring, setting of QAS, sensory panelling and customer contact tracking and review through working with supply chain, retail and suppliers
  • Ensure operational efficiency is embedded into the PLM product development process, within both internal and external manufacturing and at retail shop level
  • Work collaboratively across multiple functions, within head office and across the business and with external stakeholders, suppliers and customers and take responsibility for personal development
  • Support other business projects and working groups to continually grow and improve the Greggs business and ways of working
About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Have food manufacturing product development and retail product development experience, with an understanding of food science, its application in recipe formulation and the role ofingredients.

  • Have a food related degree/qualification

  • Are results focused with strong planning, prioritising and organisation skills withproven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales

  • Are self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and using own initiative

  • Are a strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels

  • A good communicator, able to operate at all levels clearly and concisely

  • Have IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • Enjoy being part of a hard-working team, sharing the same end goal, and celebrating results together
