Technical Author – Full Time, £50-60k (DOE) A company specialising in special-purpose automated machinery and conveyors is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join its dynamic design team. This role involves producing detailed installation procedures and technical manuals for the company's product lines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with international teams. While primarily office-based, there will be some international travel required. Key Responsibilities of the Technical Author Liaise with project design and product teams to gather technical requirements. Analyse and improve existing manuals to enhance quality and efficiency. Collaborate with international teams to synchronize documentation. Use 2D and 3D CAD software to create technical illustrations. Identify and implement new systems for optimising manual production. Ensure documentation is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and colleagues. Required Skills and Qualifications of the Technical Author: Minimum HNC in engineering; a BA/BSc degree is preferred. Proficiency with SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD is advantageous (training available). Strong experience with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with MRP systems is beneficial (training provided). At least 5 years of relevant experience in technical writing. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to learn new software as required. Ability to travel internationally 2-3 times per year. What the Company Offers: Competitive salary range of £50-60k, depending on experience.
