We are seeking a skilled Labour Controller to join our client's dynamic team in Kidderminster. You will play a crucial role, with a primary focus on optimising the efficiency of a group of UK-based Engineers, ensuring top-notch customer service and deployment of resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule designated service works (Electrical Installation Testing or Portable Appliance Testing) on a weekly basis, coordinating with clients and Engineers.
  • Provide support to Engineers in the field, ensuring they have necessary training, job information, and equipment, acting as a liaison between them and clients/internal departments.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations for Engineers working away from home, managing purchase orders and budget compliance.
  • Track work completion, collect worksheets from Engineers, and provide accurate invoicing information to the Accounts Team.
  • Generate management reports (KPIs, invoicing, weekly/monthly updates).
  • Handle ad hoc tasks to support management in maintaining service and meeting financial commitments.
  • Plan workloads and targets nationally based on sales information, retained customer data, and knowledge of customer/engineer/geography.
  • Process invoices and liaise with customers to ensure timely payments.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience as a Labour Controller, Planner, Scheduler, or Operations Manager.
  • Industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Exceptional people skills with a focus on building strong client relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced service environment, demonstrating calmness, resilience, and flexibility.
  • Proficient in email and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong forward planning and reactive problem resolution skills.
  • Adaptability to last-minute changes.
  • Ability to handle challenging individuals.
