Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Electrical Estimator at Quartzelec Limited located in Hamilton. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for estimating costs, managing expenses, coordinating electrical contracts, and providing expertise in electrical engineering. We are seeking an Electrical Estimator to engage with our client base and provide competitive cost solutions for the installation on a variety of HV/LV electrical systems. (HV experience preferable but not essential, as training would be provided).

Qualifications

Key Qualifications:

  1. Electrical Estimating, Cost Control, and Electrical Contracting skills
  2. Proficiency in Electricity and Electrical Engineering
  3. Experience in estimating electrical project costs accurately
  4. An excellent understanding and knowledge of installation of HV/LV Electrical, testing/inspection and remedials as well as Building Services installations (HV experience preferable but not essential, training would be provided)
  5. The ability to build relationships with clients quickly and possess a natural and positive drive to improve sales
  6. Affinity for tender status monitoring and networking, being an analytical thinker with a problem-solving approach
  7. Resilient, tenacious, and Independent with commercial awareness and ability to provide client requested breakdowns and tender analysis
  8. An ability to provide re-engineering suggestions within a designated scope of works to provide potential submission advantages
  9. A solid, verifiable technical background within the Electrical Contracting sector (HNC preferable but not essential)
  10. Good computer skills, Microsoft Office, projects, etc. CAD preferable but not essential
  11. Ability to work well in a team and independently
  12. Attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with our existing client contacts, seeking out new customers and opportunities
  • Estimating HV/LV installations in the corporate, renewables and general industrial/commercial contracting environment
  • The ability to accurately cost the construction and asset replacement projects on a variety of HV/LV systems
  • Commercial awareness and ability to provide client requested breakdowns and tender analysis
  • An ability to provide re-engineering suggestions within a designated scope of works to provide potential submission advantages
