IT Business Analyst / Systems Analyst - Perm - Edinburgh

McFall Recruitment are recruiting for a FinTech business, seeking an IT Technical Analyst to join their team and play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects and make a tangible impact in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

As an IT Technical Analyst , you’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, translating their requirements into actionable technical solutions. You’ll act as a critical link between IT and business teams, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and enhancements to systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document technical and business requirements.
  • Work with development teams to design and deliver robust solutions that meet business needs.
  • Analyse existing systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Create detailed technical specifications, user stories, and process flows.
  • Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for system issues and changes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions.

About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a passion for delivering value through technology. You’ll be proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at communicating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Analyst or similar role, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and process diagrams.
  • Experience working in an Agile or hybrid project environment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Jira, and Confluence is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
