Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), including but not limited to students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other members of the school staff to develop personalized learning strategies for students with SEN.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as necessary.
  • Accompany students to specialist sessions or therapies, both within and outside of the school premises, as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably within a school setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (desirable but not essential).
