Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading company, in their search for a Transport Planner to work at their Oswestry -based facility. For the successful Transport Planner our client is offering;

  • GBP25,000 - GBP30,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 07:00am - 3:00pm Saturday on a rota (1 in 3-4 weeks)
  • Permanent role

The Role of the Transport Planner:

  • Assist planning of all vehicle repairs and servicing co-ordinating with suppliers while ensuring vehicle availability for operations.
  • Perform daily and weekly audits on paperwork to ensure procedures are being adhered to and suggest changes if required.
  • Assist in ensuring that any accidents are properly investigated
  • Ensure that digital and paper tachograph records are maintained and filed correctly, safeguarding driver's hours are within legal boundaries.
  • Monitor that all driver licences are compliant in conjunction with "Driver Check" provider.
  • Support the Routing management for route performance and mileage.
  • Follow and implement current and new standards/procedures as set by the Company.
  • Assist the Transport Manager with any disciplinary issues concerning staff, to perform investigations and disciplinaries when required.
  • Deputise for the Routing/Head of Department when required.

What our client is looking for in a Transport Planner:

  • Must have HGV Licence and a Drivers CPC
  • Ability to work in a very busy environment and to demonstrate initiative with a "level-headed" approach.
  • Actively seeks new knowledge and skills. Supports the development of your team.
  • Customer focused and solutions driven.
  • Experience using systems and with good knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a confident manager of people.
