Tractor Driver

We are looking for a tractor/telehandler operator to join our team of 5.
We have new cattle handling facilities, large modern and efficient cattle buildings, modern farm machinery, and a fully set up farm workshop.
Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Summer months: Running and setting up water for our cattle, grain and bale carting, hay making, moving electric fences and occasional cattle handling and stock checking
- Winter months: Bedding up and feeding 800 housed cattle, muck carting, occasional cattle handling and stock checking, scrub clearing and running cattle to the abattoir with a 30ft stock box and tractor
This role is mostly yard based in the winter months and outdoor based in the summer months. At times the role will involve working on foot and with machinery on challenging terrain so you will need to be fit and physically able. You will be required to work with others as well as alone depending on the job being undertaken.
Currently our arable is contracted out, however in the future depending on the candidate we may take operations back in hand and this role would potentially change to include organic arable operations.
The candidate:
- Confident operating both tractors and telehandlers
- ATV and telescopic handler tickets are desired (we will provide training to the right candidate if needed)
- Willing to occasionally handle cattle
- Able to put up temporary electric fencing and do weekend stock checks
- You will need to be calm, have attention to detail and be able to think on your feet
We are invested in developing our staff and expect this role to evolve as the farm transitions to fully organic over the next couple of years.
Job can start as soon as possible, but this vacancy will remain open until we find and appoint the right candidate.
