Description

LV Group are looking for a Group Accountant to join the Finance Team, and to be responsible for providing a high-quality service, in-line with best practices, and delivering comprehensive financial support to the Head of Finance.

As Group Accountant, you will oversee the accounts of all subsidiary companies within the Group. The role will work together with the Head of Finance to complete consolidations, reporting, and forecasts, ensuring each company adheres to reporting standards and is financially compliant, with a focus of improving the accuracy of key deliverables in an efficient and timely manner, maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct, and adherence to relevant policies, procedures and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work together with the CEO and Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis to budget and prior year figures, together with appropriate commentaries.
  • Assist the CEO and Finance Manager in the preparation of the annual budget based on assumptions agreed upon with the board, working with budget holders to maximise income and control costs.
  • Supporting the CEO and Finance Manager in the preparation of annual financial accounts, participating in annual external audits by completing requests within agreed deadlines.
  • To provide support to the CEO and Finance Manager in the accurate, timely, and relevant statutory and board reporting, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Participate in monthly close processes, including detailed balance sheet analyses, and income statement variance, and record and report any findings or adjustments to the CEO and Finance Manager.
  • To conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Process capital expenditure and reconcile group Fixed Asset Registers.
  • Prepare and process any adjustment workings, accruals, and prepayments, reconciling schedules monthly.
  • Oversee the weekly timesheet reporting and analyse any variances to report to the Home Management Team.
  • Provide backup support for the Accounts Receivable process, such as raising and issuing sales invoices, recording and updating resident and client records, receiving and responding to queries and correspondence effectively and efficiently, recording transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Provide backup support for the Accounts Payable process, and review expenses ensuring that they are in-line with policy, and the cost is within the budget. Post fully approved expenditures into the accounting system.
  • Attend and participate in weekly finance update meetings to discuss workload, priorities, and any new initiatives to aid in the smooth running of the team.
  • Work under the Finance Task List, ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Any other project in-line with skillset and experience as requested by the Senior Management Team.
  • Be accountable for your growth through the annual appraisal process, requesting opportunities to learn new skills and undertake continuous professional development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Understanding of financial roles, responsibilities, budgets, and policy.
  • Proven financial, organisational, and administrative skills, with the ability to work in adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ability to independently take ownership of responsibilities and deliver timely and accurate information and reports.
  • Ability to review current performance and identify ways of making improvements.
  • Ability to manage good working relationships across departments, with various levels of management.
  • Assertiveness to achieve a positive outcome with a willingness to challenge.
  • Practical knowledge of maintaining records according to confidentiality and data protection procedures.
  • Willingness to undertake appropriate training as requested and required.
  • Proficiency in information technology skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Sharepoint, Access, Accountancy and Payroll software, and other role-critical systems.
  • High-level numerical and written skills, with the ability to work accurately whilst under pressure, working to tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve, prioritise, and process work with accuracy promptly.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of prioritising and managing demands and workloads.
  • Good teamwork and self-management skills.
