Job title: Engineering Manager – Centralised Control & Surveillance Systems

Salary: Negotiable, Depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, directing and managing a team of Software & Systems Engineers, responsible for In-Service support for several complex submarine systems
  • Support, design and develop solutions and resolve engineering issues and problems on a range of electronic products fitted to in service submarines
  • Reporting of activities, overseeing tasks, understand dependencies and identify potential risks and issues
  • You will gain exposure in working and communicating with stakeholders such as UK MOD customer, Rolls Royce, Babcock, etc.
  • Present information to Project Chief Engineers for review and lead on engagement with internal assurance teams to ensure we are adhering to processes

Your skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge / experience of Engineering from an Electrical or Systems discipline
  • Have the ability to confidently communicate with stakeholders
  • Management experience on leading design projects or within a design project would be advantageous

The Centralised Control & Surveillance Systems team:

You will be leading a team of 6 Engineers, spilt between Systems and Software Engineers. The team specialise in designing, operating and maintaining several complex submarine systems. You will have the opportunity to learn on the job where you will learn the daily activities and responsibilities while in post. The team are currently managing Submarines that are designed, built and operating. With the new class of sub due to enter service later this decade, the work needs to start now in understanding what technology that new class operates. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
