Oxford Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Humand Talent Full time

Are You a Technical Project Manager Ready to Drive Innovation? Do you thrive in fast-paced, high-tech environments? Have you led full-cycle product development projects in fields like semiconductors, laser systems, or scientific instrumentation? Looking to step into a role where your leadership, technical fluency, and organisation will shape the future of precision hardware? If so, this could be the next exciting chapter in your career. Shape the Future of Advanced Technology Platforms Our client is seeking a Project Manager with a strong engineering foundation and proven experience in end-to-end product development, ideally within industries such as: Medical Devices (e.g. ophthalmic lasers, surgical equipment) Semiconductor Equipment (e.g. lithography, wafer inspection) Industrial Laser Systems (e.g. micromachining, engraving) Scientific or Optical Instrumentation (e.g. microscopy, spectroscopy) This Industry experience is a must have This is your chance to work closely with experts developing complex hardware and software systems that push the boundaries of what's possible. Why This Role is Great This is not a box-ticking role — it's a true opportunity to take ownership and leave your mark. You will: Drive multi-disciplinary product development projects from concept through to production Lead and coordinate engineering efforts across mechanical, electrical, software and system teams Own timelines, risk management, and budget tracking — while keeping quality and technical performance in sharp focus Collaborate with operations and external suppliers to align milestones with real-world delivery Shape internal processes including NPI, FMEA, and change management workflows Champion decision-making and unblock teams quickly and efficiently You'll be part of a tight-knit team solving hard engineering problems with agility, precision, and clarity. About You You're someone who thrives in small, high-performing teams. You love technical challenges and the satisfaction of delivering tangible results. You bring: 5+ years of experience in technical project management, following hands-on engineering roles Proven experience in high-tech product development cycles Familiarity with structured project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet) Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and stakeholders in a matrix setup Confidence leading stand-ups, reviews, and project delivery meetings Bonus if you've worked with laser, optics or photonics technology, or have knowledge of ISO9001, lean manufacturing or Six Sigma approaches. A professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP) would be a welcome addition to your toolkit — but transferable experience matters most. What's in It for You? This is a hybrid-working role offering flexibility, but regular on-site collaboration is important due to the hands-on nature of hardware development. Salary: £48,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience) Plus a full suite of benefits Hybrid & flexible working options Annual bonus scheme & share options Private medical insurance This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of high-impact technology development, with a growing team where your input is valued and your growth is supported. If you've got the passion, the project management skills, and the engineering mindset — we'd love to hear from you.
