About theOpportunity:
Focus on the success of the Industrial, Processand Emissions (IP&E) Business Unit (BU).nAct as the Technical Expertfor IP&E products, applications, and technologies.nMentors others inbest practice related to experimentation and data analysis.nSpecialistand focused understanding of processes, products, and technologies,including measurement principles.nResponsible for developing newapplications and measurements for existing products (applicationsdevelopment).nActs as an integral part of New Product Introduction(NPI) process (planning and testing, knowledge capturing, ‘fit forpurpose’ sign off, developing of tuning and testing procedures,etc.).nParticipates in the development of products as part ofmulti-disciplinary project teams including engineering and operationsteams during the integration into manufacture.nWorks within projecttimescales, providing progress indication and task estimates asnecessary.nInvestigates technical solutions for development andcommunicates to the Business Unit, acting as voice of thecustomer.nTechnical review of applications and solutions for novelSpecial Instrument Process (SIPS) opportunities.nResponsible for finalapproval and sign off for production planning of specialistproducts.nProvides expert support to Inside Sales and local salesteams to offer the best total solution to customers.nParticipatesactively in commercial visits as technical expert and in significantproject pursuit activities and order reviews.nEnsures developmentknowledge is captured and shared through a variety of media.nProvidesinternal and external training/knowledge transfer (expertknowledge).nCreates applications-specific literature for the businessunit (white papers, applications notes, technical notes, best practiceguides).nSupports and facilitates FATs and field trials.nFull jobdescription will be made available during the selectionprocess
About your Talent:
Essential Experience andSkills:
Demonstrable experience in Application andDevelopment within the Gas Analysis/ Process Instrumentationindustry.nProven experience working with process / gas analysersincluding Infrared (IR) and Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) spectroscopytechniques and their applications.nAnalysing test data and writingcorresponding technical reports.nCompetence in IT skills withMicrosoft Office.nStrong analytical and computational skills.nStrongcommunication skills, combined with experience of liaising withcustomers.nSignificant experience working as part of amultidisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience andSkills:
Experience and knowledge of Lean techniques.nCapableof installing equipment, analysers and providing direct support forlive customer site demonstrations.nKnowledge of MATLAB and Python andwriting script in these languages.nProven experience working withFourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy instrument.nExperiencein configuring gas analysers (e.g., infrared).nTesting skills;designing, implementing, and reporting on verification/validationtesting.nLean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt qualification /Practitioner.
Essential Qualifications andEducation:
Technical degree (or equivalent or higher) andproven experience in physics, chemistry, physical chemistry, orchemical engineering
