Trainee CAD Technician

Trainee CAD Technician / Detailer who has an eye for detail with a methodical approach to task, excellent written and verbal communication skills with an interest learning Computer-Aided Design for the construction / architectural industry.

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

Experience of using CAD software, would be advantageous but not essential, as in-house training will be provided.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee CAD Technician / Detailer who has an eye for detail with a methodical approach to task, excellent written and verbal communication skills with an interest learning Computer-Aided Design.

Working as a Trainee CAD Technician / Detailer you will support the Team with a range of tasks such as requesting project information from other departments and clients, checking schedules, creating designs / 3D models using CAD software based on client requirements and supporting the team with taking and confirming measurements for individual projects.

As the Trainee CAD Technician / Detailer you must have the ability to work to high levels of accuracy and have excellent IT skills as you’ll be trained on CAD software.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Trainee CAD Technician / Detailer include:

• Requesting information to assist with the smooth running of the technical department

• Ensuring the detailing and assembly process can proceed to a schedule

• Detailing edge protection to suit build and customer requirements using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software

• Requesting 3D model and any specific requirements, to enable the detailing process to commence

• Aiding the technical team in measuring for chargeable areas in builds, and the creation of site prints

• Detailing customers edge protection requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Effective communication ability both verbal and written

• Excellent IT skills (particularly e-mails and Microsoft Office)

• Good organisational manner with a co-ordinated approach to tasks

• Experience of using CAD software
