We are looking to recruit one mental health professionals at Band 6 in a development role to reach Band 7 on completion of a development plan, with an expectation of reaching Band 7 within 12 months of joining the team. You should have a relevant qualification as well as demonstrable experience in community mental health and an understanding of the Early Intervention model of care. We provide a bio-psychosocial approach in working with our patients, and the team works in strong multi-disciplinary approaches with colleagues in psychiatry, psychology, employment specialists, peer support, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, activity coordinators and administrative staff. Please note that this is a fixed term contract for 12 months to provide training and support. If at the end of the 12-month period for development, the post holder is unable to demonstrate evidence that they are competent to the standards required by the Trust the contract will end.
o Offered a band 6 role at any other part of the service which is immediately available
o A new FTC training contract is issued or
A qualified Cognitive Behaviour Therapist or qualifying within the next 9 months who has undergone additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) is required to work in our Early Intervention in Psychosis service. There will be a particular focus on At Risk Mental State patient identification and CBT delivery, as well as management/resolution of any bio-psycho-social patient issues that arise outside of the CBTp sessions. Primarily, support the Team in identifying, formulating, managing and intervening with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Psychosis for patients in an At Risk Mental State, as well as managing any bio-psycho-social patient issues that arise outside of the CBT sessions.You should be skilled in assessing mental health, creating risk assessments, safety plans and crisis and contingency plans.
Intervene with ARMS patients using individual Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Joint supervise pre-qualification staff who are on non-ARMS CBTp training placements
To have an active role with other senior colleagues in the continuing development of a high quality service that is underpinned by evidence based practice, care pathways and NICE guidance
Contribute to Quality Improvement projects
Deliver training specific to the role to members of the EIS MDT
In conjunction with other senior team members ensure that implementation of clinical/management supervision for Early Intervention team staff in line with the trust policy and appropriate professional guidelines
Make judgement on complex facts and situations which require analysis/ consideration of options.
A core profession e.g. nursing, social work, psychology or occupational therapy

Highly developed specialist knowledge, both theoretical and practical, of CBT applied to clinical practice, particularly in respect of adults and young people with severe and enduring mental health disorders (including personality disorders).
