Springfields is undergoing planned expansion which sees the number of pupils on roll increasing in September. It’s a really exciting time to be joining us as we look to become OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ and re-accredit with our Advance NAS award. Many of our teachers find the chance to be truly child-centred professionally rewarding. Mentoring is a crucial role in supporting our pupils to integrate into school.You will have the opportunity to work with some of our amazing pupils on a one-to-one basis creating bespoke targets for them supporting them through the journey from home to school. Our curriculum is holistic and we value social and emotional progress as much as academic attainment. Staff enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with subjects such as animal therapy embedded in the timetable. You will also have a core focus on community engagement and life skills.
Who will I be teaching?
All of our learners have an EHCP and autism and/or SLCN. A passion forunderstandingautism and enabling autistic children is essential. You will also be working with pupils who have emotional based school avoidance. The learners on the mentoring pathway will have bespoke timetables working with key adults to support their integration into school. There is lots of support with planning and adapting teaching, and you will work closely with ourSENCoand Therapy to create a child-centred approach.

A teacher witha commitment to developing agood knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs and appropriate strategies to support pupils with this need. A creative and flexible approach to teaching that builds success through challenge, personalisation and innovation.

Acommitment to enabling all our pupils to overcome their challenges and achieve their potential both socially and academically.
About the School
The Springfields Academy is a Reach South Academy for young people aged 5-19 with autism. We have 170 pupils attending our Calne site and 40 pupils at our Satellite provision in Salisbury. Our goal is to build safe independent lives for autistic young people through support, understanding and enablement.
The Springfields Academy is an academy over two sites in Calne and Salisbury. We aspire to build safe independent lives for autistic young people through support, understanding and enablement. Additionally, we hold the National Autistic Society Advanced specialist award and are recognised as an Ofsted good school.
We are an acknowledged centre of excellence for Autism; We provide a personalised curriculum journey that enables leaners with a diagnosis of autism to develop skills in areas of need and to overcome their barriers to learning. The Academy has a PAN of 210.
Reach South is a young and developing Trust which operates across the South West of England with the aim of delivering all through 3-19 education.We operate 15 academies in Plymouth, Bournemouth, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.We are building this Trust on a clear set of values, behaviours and curriculum principles.
