Handyman (Permanent)

Multi Trades Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Handyperson to join our team, covering four sites across Poole and Bournemouth. The ideal candidate will undertake a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure our facilities are kept in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform minor fabric reactive works as issued through the helpdesk within set time frames.
• Actively undertake proactive maintenance works and low-level PPM tasks as required.
• Replace lamps and ensure site housekeeping is maintained, particularly in plant rooms.
• Maintain Security Clearance requirements for Police Authority Buildings.
• Conduct daily walk-rounds of the buildings to assess internal and external integrity.
• Report faults to the Helpdesk immediately, rectify H&S issues if capable, and report retrospectively.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks as instructed by technicians/technical supervisor.
• Coordinate and complete PPM tasks in support of Technicians/Technical Supervisor.
• Understand the operation of the four Dorset Police and Fire PFI Buildings.
• Assist with general grounds maintenance duties including litter picking, tidying external grounds, and emptying waste bins.
• Undertake gritting of walkways and entrances to ensure safe access and egress.
• Address spillages promptly to eliminate Health and Safety issues on site and assist the cleaning team when required.
• Remove graffiti using appropriate methods and seek advice when necessary.
• Adhere to EQUANS’s Health & Safety policy, including colour coding, COSHH, Risk Assessments, and safe working practices.
• Manage Sub Contractor visits, ensuring Risk Assessments and overall standards are met.
• Proactively liaise with clients to address concerns and relay to management as needed.
• Ensure timely completion of administrative requirements and accurate maintenance of necessary documents/records.
• Be willing to travel between sites and work shifts as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Skills in joinery, plumbing, general building, and fabric.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in relamping and general duties is advantageous.
