Are you a manufacturing engineer specialising in composites with a passion for innovation? Do you want to make the move into eVTOL, on one of the most advanced projects available in the market today?

Then let me introduce you to SkyBridge; haven't heard of us before? Good. We have been operating in secrecy since 2017, in this time we have designed, manufactured and tested multiple prototypes, with the aim of finding the perfect eVTOL solution. Due to recent success we need to expand the team and increase our operations to hit our next milestone.

In order to assist with this growth, we are currently searching for a c omposite manufacturing engineer to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible the development of composite materials & manufacturing processes to meet our company goals. This role presents the unique opportunity to engage in the full life cycle of manufacturing within a very small and specialist team. You will have the opportunity to work directly with our expert team of designers in conceptual stages, rapidly prototyping and manufacturing .

Y ou will be at the forefront of shaping the future of our aerospace technology. This project is incredibly unique and cutting-edge, and we need the best of the best to make it happen.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of composite materials and processes from concept to production.
  • Design and optimise composite material formulations for specific applications.
  • Conduct research and development to enhance material properties and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate composite materials into product designs.
  • Manage projects related to composite materials development, including budgeting and timeline adherence.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure consistency and reliability in composite materials production.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in composite materials technology.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and technicians.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques, such as resin infusion, compression moulding, and automated fibre placement.
  • Proficiency in material characterisation techniques, including mechanical testing and analysis.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with NX CAD software and simulation tools.
