At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The VX4, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the electrical charging systems that will support the VX4 aircraft throughout its lifecycle. You’ll work closely with our energy storage, ground systems, and aircraft integration teams to design and deliver safe, reliable, and scalable charging solutions. This role will suit someone who thrives in cross-functional environments and wants to help set new industry standards for electric aviation.
Lead the design and development of the aircraft charging architecture, including interfaces between aircraft, ground equipment, and energy systems
Support certification and compliance efforts by contributing to documentation and testing strategies
Strong experience in electrical systems engineering, ideally with exposure to high-voltage charging systems
Knowledge of power electronics, grid interfaces, and energy management
Familiarity with safety-critical systems and regulatory standards in aerospace or automotive sectors
Hands-on experience with system integration and testing, including troubleshooting and fault analysis, preferably with experience of ISO 15118
Effective collaboration skills across disciplines such as mechanical, software, and systems engineering
