Construction Engineering Industrial Placement – 12-Month Opportunity About the Opportunity Our client, a leading player in the UK's energy and infrastructure sector, is offering a 12-month industrial placement for motivated engineering students keen to contribute to one of the country's most high-profile construction projects. This is a chance to be part of a major national development while gaining first-hand experience that will strengthen both technical knowledge and professional capability. The Role The placement provides exposure to large-scale construction engineering operations, where students will collaborate with skilled engineers and technical specialists across a variety of projects. The role is designed to offer practical learning in a complex, safety-driven environment, combining on-the-job experience with continued academic development. Participants will have the opportunity to: Support the creation and review of technical plans and reports. Contribute to safety initiatives and engineering reviews. Assist with condition monitoring and maintenance activities. Gain experience in construction processes and project delivery on a major infrastructure site. This is a structured programme that bridges academic learning with industry practice, giving participants the chance to apply theory to live engineering challenges. Location Placements are based in the Bridgwater area, working either on-site at a major UK nuclear construction project or within the associated satellite delivery centre. Both locations provide an opportunity to work at the heart of one of Europe's largest engineering developments. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be studying for, or have recently completed, a degree (2:2 or above) in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering disciplines. Strong analytical skills, an interest in large-scale infrastructure, and a proactive approach to teamwork and safety are key attributes for success. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK from the start of the placement.
