You will like
The Mechatronics Engineer job itself where you will have responsibility for the application engineering of existing and new product range onto a wide variety of commercial vehicle chassis. The role includes new product development, implementing new options, chassis applications to commercial vehicles. More specifically:
* Produce 3D CAD schemes and from them produce 2D CAD drawings to ISO standards.
* Liaise with chassis manufacturers to integrate our products via CANBUS control
* Respond to technical enquiries and technically assist with Sales Order Process.
* Design effective solutions enabling the application of our product range within the ever-changing commercial vehicle market.
* Liaise with production personnel to achieve completion of production and prototype machines.
* To liaise regularly and effectively with other members of the team to ensure a cohesive overall design.
* To engage in the prototyping of new components, their evaluation and testing under representative conditions.
* Value analysis/Cost reduction plays an important part of the Engineering brief in order to maintain an acceptable profit margin for the Company.
* Contribute to maintaining a high level of housekeeping and attention to health and safety issues so as to create a healthy and safe working environment.
* Willing to travel within UK and overseas to facilitate application projects on occasion.
You will have
To be successful as Mechatronics Engineer you will have a healthy mix of the following:
* Mechanical engineering design experience essential
* Experience and knowledge 2D Electrical CAD software (E3 preferred),
* Knowledge of automotive electrics, electronics including CAN bus.
* Knowledge of mobile hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
* Experience of 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred),
* Experience of chassis applications or special vehicles with understanding of Whole Vehicle Type Approval or Individual Vehicle Approval beneficial.
* Drive, energy, determination with commitment and have ability to co­ordinate multi-task projects, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplined team.
* Clean current UK driving license holder
* Willingness to travel within the UK & overseas on occasion
