Buyer / Procurement Specialist - Electric Vehicle Development - Oxfordshire - 4 Month Fixed Term Contract - £30k to £45k
One of our key clients specialising in the EV & Automotive sector based in Oxfordshire is hiring a Buyer / Procurement Specialist.
As a Buyer / Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services essential to their operations. You will ensure that all procurement activities align with their quality standards, cost-efficiency goals, and sustainability initiatives. Role: Buyer / Procurement Specialist
Hybrid WFH: Varied, Primarily on Site (Negotiable)
2 years’ experience as Buyer or similar role in Procurement
~ Prior experience in the Automotive / EV Sector is ideal
~ Experience with Chassis, Vehicle Development, Fabrication is ideal
~ Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
~ Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
~ A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
~ Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives and sustainability goals.
Managing the day to day procurement of components directly from BoMs,
Meeting SIP/MRD deadlines, and Producing regular reports of procurement/release status against each project.
Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels.
Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier correspondence.
Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
