An exciting opportunity has opened for a permanent Band 6 Staff Nurse on Ward 2.


Ward 2 is a dynamic workforce, who are keen to help support and develop nurses interested in experiencing this exciting and changeable environment.Ward 2 is a General Medical ward with a specialty of Elderly Care.Experience in a mentorship qualification (or equivalent course) and have Band 5 experience.

The role of the Band 6 Staff Nurse is to support, contribute to and assist the Senior Sister in the leadership and the management of the unit team and to support the Senior Sister in the development, monitoring and implementation of high quality, evidence-based clinical care to ensure continuity of service provision and standards are maintained and improved.


The Band 6 Staff Nurse will act as a role model for staff on the ward sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Current First Level Registration in General/Adult Nursing


Experience as a Band 5 staff nurse, within appropriate field and can demonstrate clinical credibility within this field
Experience of mentoring and educating junior members of staff
Experience of using a multi disciplinary approach to patient care.

Experience in designing and delivering education to junior colleagues.

Demonstrates a high standard of clinical practice in appropriate field.
