Metric Search has been exclusively retained to support a fast-growing, global leader within the AV domain who are seeking to build the most advanced autonomous driving platform that will allow for autonomy at scale.

As part of a planned expansion of their team, my client is seeking to hire a Functional Safety Expert who will play a pivotal role in defining the Safety Case, Functional Safety & Technical Safety Concepts for their autonomy platform.

This is an individual contributor position within an innovative, growing organization where you will be responsible for the safe deployment of autonomous vehicles.

The client is a well-funded start-up backed by prominent investors in the future mobility space, with ongoing commercial partnerships in place with a number of globally recognised organizations, As a result they are a well-positioned, stable organization on an upwards trajectory.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA) in order to develop the functional safety architecture, safety concepts (FSC & TSC) and functional safety requirements for a highly autonomous driving platform
  • Provide training & support to development teams to ensure development best practice and compliance with relevant standards, processes & frameworks (ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA-C etc.)

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience within the automotive domain, ideally working within autonomous driving or active safety programs
  • Expertise within ISO 26262; with specific experience surrounding safety requirements when developing software components (ISO 26262 Part 6)
  • Knowledge of SOTIF (ISO 21448) would be beneficial

This role is hybrid-remote, with an expectation to be on-site one day per week.
