IT Innovation Manager

St Patrick’s CBC is a prestigious Private Independent school in the heart of Kimberley, Northern Cape, committed to providing exceptional education in an enriching learning environment to 1000 pupils from ECD to Grade 12.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated IT & Innovations Manager to join our administrative team and contribute to our mission of excellence in education.
IT & Innovations Manager
Maintaining, and resolving issues on, LAN/WAN, VoIP telephone, biometric, video systems, school timekeeping including bell systems and other computing equipment.
Assist with procurement of technical hardware/software for the school.
Preserving assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Establishing network uptime by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilisation, throughput, output, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures and documenting as such.
Working closely with the marketing department for the success of the schools communication systems. (WhatsApp Business , Large volume emailing tools and SMS technologies.
Maintaining network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; Securing network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; Preparing users by designing and conducting training programmes; providing references and support.
Upgrade network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
Assisting with general technical support across the school.
Train up academic staff on newer technologies and innovations.
maintaining personal networks; Microsoft windows server administration (minimum 2 years’ experience)
SQL database administration and maintenance
SSO and identity technologies.
Print server management, Papercut print management software.
Microsoft 365 administration and Intune for Education (minimum 2 years’ experience)
Jamf Pro , Jamf Protect and Jamf Connect MDM experience
Working experience of Sage Software , Avid Sibelius ,Windows NPS Server and willing to work and support the schools internal MIS (Engage MIS) will be advantageous.
Ticketing systems and help desk administration.
Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation,
Problem Solving, Strategic Planning, Focus on Quality, Co- ordination with academic staff, Technical Understanding
Experience with Video, Audio , Lighting control systems and live streaming is essential.
Willingness to work overtime and on weekends when required.
Availability to work flexible hours as per the needs of the school.
Previous work experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
