Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Espresso Machine Engineer to join our technical team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a deep passion for coffee technology and exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Job purpose/ summary of the overall job assignment:

The Espresso Machine Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of espresso machines. This role ensures the optimal performance of coffee equipment, contributing to a consistent and high-quality coffee experience for customers. Inhouse, and for other clients.

Key accountabilities/main responsibilities:

  • Successfully install and configure new espresso machines at locations.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks on all espresso machines across all locations on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all machines are operating at peak performance, meeting quality standards.
  • Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and disruption to service.
  • Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions accurately and efficiently.
  • Reduce average machine downtime through effective troubleshooting and repair processes.
  • Maintain a well-stocked inventory of spare parts and tools to facilitate quick repairs.
  • Provide detailed reports on all repairs and maintenance activities, including root cause analysis and preventative measures.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders through open communication, responsiveness, and reliable service.

Knowledge, skills and experience & Qualifications:

Education:

A high school diploma, technical vocation training, certification or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.

Technical skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge in La Marzocco , and Victoria Arduino , Cimbali machines and others.
  • English Language fluency
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems;
  • Familiarity with espresso machines and coffee brewing equipment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Customer Service: Friendly and professional demeanour;
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs);
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Experience required:

3-5 years of experience in a technical or mechanical role, preferably with espresso & Coffee machines or similar equipment.
