Strathclyde would like to appoint an early career fundraiser to the role of Alumni Fund Officer, working within itsestablished and successful Alumni and Development team. This role will deliver fundraising programmes to supportthe University’s Alumni Fund – a fund which is championed by many thousands of our graduates, and which supportsthe whole student experience.
You will deliver a range of fundraising projects including an annual student telethon campaign, direct mail, anddigital projects (including Giving Day campaigns). Working across the University, you will develop close andsupportive relationships with senior staff and talented students alike.
The University’s Alumni Fund helps students to have an outstanding student experience by funding a range of projectsincluding scholarships for students in need; community programmes; learning resourcesand student-led projects. You will raise awareness of the Fund to the student community, and you will manage thefunding application process, taking an active role in awarding funding to successful projects.

The successful candidate will join the Directorate of External Relations, where they will be instrumental in securingsubstantial donations for priority projects such as scholarships, research, and infrastructure. The roleinvolves engaging with a diverse range of donors, planning and executing fundraising events, and craftingstrategies to maximise donor contributions.

The Memorial Chapel is used for a wide range ofevents, both religious and secular. At the same time, the services held in the Chapel are Christian and, asofficiating minister, the Chaplain is required to belong to one of the mainstream Christian denominations. Ideally you will have experience of writing compelling funding proposals and managing relationships to securefive-six figure grants and philanthropic gifts.
