Job Description

Our Senior Electrical Engineer plays a key role supporting the electrification of Heathrow's Carbon program and our sustainability team. To drive continuous improvement from our assets over their whole life by implementing and assuring asset system strategies, standards, and plans.

This will be achieved by optimising cost, risk, and performance over the whole life of our asset. Responsible for a number of engineering systems across the airport and for developing a working relationship with operational, maintenance, development, supply chain, finance, and safety teams.

Responsibilities

  • Front the development and optimisation of asset maintenance strategies and plans, leading a diverse team committed to excellence.
  • Gaining a deep, data-driven understanding of asset performance, focusing on lifecycle costs, service quality, and risk management.
  • Craft and execute continuous improvement plans, targeting enhancements in performance and value for both the short and long term.
  • Ensure that our asset system strategies, plans, and standards are not only understood but also effectively implemented across the organisation.
  • Offer your expertise as a Professional Engineer, providing guidance and acting as a Subject Matter Expert and Informed Buyer.
  • Support our delivery teams by helping to resolve complex technical issues.

Qualifications

  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience that showcases your expertise. If you're on the path to becoming an Incorporated Engineer, we'd love to support your journey.
  • A solid background in maintenance practices, with a strategic mindset and a knack for continuous improvement.
  • Analytical prowess, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights and solutions.
  • A comprehensive understanding of whole-life cost principles and their practical application.
  • Experience in building business cases, with the skill to communicate technical concepts in a way that highlights their business impact.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Are already a professionally registered engineer, or if you're close to achieving this milestone.
  • Have experience in a dynamic operational engineering environment.
