Senior Planning Officer

As a Senior Planning Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking a lead role in the development and delivery of planning policies, strategies, and projects.
- Managing and assessing planning applications, providing expert advice, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape future development plans and improve the overall quality of our city.
- Conducting site visits, preparing reports, and presenting recommendations to the Planning Committee.
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in planning legislation and participating in continuous professional development activities.
Experience:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on planning applications and proposals
- Provide expert advice on planning matters to internal and external stakeholders
- Assess the environmental impact and sustainability of proposed developments
- Prepare reports and presentations for planning committees and public consultations
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure compliance with planning policies and regulations
- Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
Note: Due to the nature of this role, a valid driving licence is required.
Technologies:
- Proficiency in planning software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD)
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
