Our Lead Data Engineers are responsible for building, testing and maintaining our data assets. The role you will play is crucial to lay the foundation, enabling data scientists and data analysts to create new insights from data.

As one of our Lead Data Engineers, you will lead the team to deliver robust data services. inspire best practice for data products and services within the team, setting technical standards for the function
•build data engineering capability by providing technical leadership and career development for the community
•work with other senior team members to identify, plan, develop and deliver data services

driving forward improvements in data services including the development and implementation of a new data platform and roll out of platform for analytics and reporting
supporting the organisation with ongoing projects from a data perspective
leading the design, development, construction, testing and maintenance of data and processing workflows
collating qualitative and quantitative information and leading appropriate analysis to develop robust business cases, and contribute to delivery of ‘products’ and service improvement
We are also recruiting for Senior Data Engineers (reference 3122) . Extensive knowledge with integration and transformation within Cloud Data Warehouses (e.g Azure, AWS, GCP)
Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, PySpark, Java
Using data engineering expertise to architect the most appropriate solution design to suit a particular requirement or set of requirements
Peer reviewing the code development and testing by others within NHS England
Good project management skills, including the ability juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines for self and team, and work autonomously to drive own work programme and that of team members.
Experience of working in and leading a multidisciplinary team using agile methodologies.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
