Themis Recruit are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Housing Solicitor to join our client's dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving various aspects of social housing law, providing expert legal advice and representation to registered social landlords, housing associations, and tenants. This role requires a deep understanding of housing law, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to social justice. The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications. The successful candidate will need to assist members of the Social Housing Team in managing a caseload that includes defending disrepair claims brought against our clients, handling county court possession claims, and preparing injunction applications, particularly in cases involving tenant anti-social behaviour. Requirements:

  • Any experience working with Housing Associations or Local Authority’s welcome but not essential;
  • Excellent computer/technical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use discretion
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to team work
  • A flexible, highly motivated, proactive and ‘can do’ working style
  • Self-motivated, ability to use initiative and provide pro-active support to the Social Housing team
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and check own work
  • Good organisational skills, able to prioritise, make decisions and work effectively within a sometimes pressurised environment
