Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer - Drainage

We provide full training and continuous development to help you reach your potential. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our UK design team. As a Senior Civil Engineer you will be responsible for delivering the civil design content of water industry projects as part of a multi-disciplinary design team. Operating under hybrid working arrangements, much of your time will be spent working in your own space, though we do require that you are available to work in person with the other discipline team members in your assigned office as and when the situation dictates. Generally, this will be in the order of 2/3 days per week.
Projects will typically include water and wastewater; This will include design delivery at all stages, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed designs for construction, determining the best solutions and the production of detailed civil design packages for construction.
Duties will typically include leading projects / packages of work, supervising less experienced or junior staff, site visits, report writing, producing drawings and design calculations and supporting health and safety.
The position is required to support our expanding Water Utilities workload and will typically involve providing designs for water and wastewater; infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. This will include design delivery at all stages, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed designs for construction, and commissioning. This is a permanent position and will be of a hybrid nature ideally based in or around our Brighouse office; however, we are open to receiving applications from candidates from across the UK to be based at one of our other regional offices or on a remote basis.
Undertake supervision of junior design team members to help ensure timely project delivery is achieved within budget and in accordance with the specification
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for projects including the planning, monitoring, and reporting of project resources and finances
Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options
Strong technical background in the design of Water / Wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure works
Computer literate and conversant with the MS Office suite with a basic knowledge of engineering packages such as AutoCAD
Strong written and oral communication and organisational skills and to produce reports in clear concise English
Proven ability to lead and work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines
