The Role

The Operations team at Javelin manages the reconciliation, confirmation and settlement of commodity products within Javelin. Working with the Logistics team, traders, finance, technology & legal, operations ensure that risk is captured accurately, and the lifecycle of the trade is supported effectively and thoroughly from inception through to settlement.

As the business continues to expand and grow, we are looking for a Documentation Specialist to join the Operations team. Dynamic and always challenging, this role will complement the responsibilities of the other team members and work as part of the global team to achieve the Operation Group's objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Trade validation
  • Drafting, reviewing and finalising physical and financial sale and purchase agreements, as well as framework agreements for a wide variety of bulk commodity products
  • Liaising with the Trading/Logistics team in London, New York & Singapore to resolve queries and discrepancies and implement solutions
  • Liaising with the technology team for solutions and updates to Javelin proprietary software
  • Client service delivery
  • Maintenance and management of Confirm reporting database
  • Reconciling OTC and Exchange Traded positions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting on a daily basis
  • Documenting processes and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate records are kept for audit requirements
  • Ad hoc Project Management

Requirements

  • We are looking for a VP-level, self-motivated, proactive candidate with 5+ years' experience in Commodities Operations, specifically with experience across physical products
  • A strong work ethic is required to help drive the team forward and push for technology-based solutions
  • Demonstrable skills coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to deliver smooth daily operational processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively across locations, with a focus on the London headquarters, New York, India, Singapore and Poland
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, international logistics and shipping, and testing standards preferred.
  • Experience discussing and negotiating contractual (commercial, financial, or legal) terms with both clients and senior internal stakeholders
  • Organizational skills
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload across time zones and judge priority and urgency of requests and issues
  • Ability to deliver difficult messages to both client and colleagues
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
