This is an exciting opportunity to join our head office in Chelmsford.

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a trainee security engineer and fire door inspector. In this roll you will have the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills in security systems installation, maintenance and inspection as well as fire door inspection compliance. We have clients based throughout southeast England. Our main portfolio of properties under maintenance contracts is in central London. This position offers extensive training and an opportunity to undertake maintenance in some of London s most prestigious buildings.

Location Madison Group Security Head Office Chelmsford

Salary: TBC depending on experience

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 9am-5pm Weekdays (An average of 40 hours per week) 28 days holiday per annum. Opportunity for weekend overtime

Requirements and skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional appearance, polite and personable attitude
  • Experience in servicing/testing and commissioning intruder alarms, surveillance and access controls systems.
  • Knowledge of any of the following intruder alarms, access control, CCTV and intercom, using a range of equipment, Paxton, Hikvision and Ajax
  • Providing a quality installation in the most methodical and efficient manner and being able to work alongside senior engineers and follow their instructions.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment at all tines and have a good understanding of health and safety and following RAMS, safe working procedures etc.
  • Undertaking training for fire door maintenance.
  • Have excellent time keeping as you will be expected to attend pre booked appointments with our customers.
  • Having flexible working times as this position can involve reactive maintenance and out of hours emergencies.
  • Using your initiative is essential is essential in this role and you must be able to work alone as well as in a team.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ensure the fire door inspections are accurate, correctly documented and reports are submitted to the office team in the agreed format and within the timeframe set by the Managing Director.
  • Driving licence and access to your own vehicle preferable but not essential
  • Ability to communicate with a range of people across different levels and show assertiveness when required to get work completed
