The responsibilities of the Product Development Engineering Manager include overseeing the research and design team, conceptualizing and designing new products, testing product designs, and drafting the specifications for the manufacturing of new products, team performance management.

To be a successful Product Development Engineering Manager, you should be innovative, creative, and analytical. Ultimately, as a Product Development Engineering Manager, you should have an excellent working knowledge of 3D modeling software and report writing programs.

Responsibilities:

Management of engineering scope of work and team
Lead research and development projects with the team to produce new designs, products, and processes.
Work external development partners or suppliers on product development designs for prototypes and production
Responsible for creating project budgets and overseeing their successful
Support market research to understand market requirements for new product
Identifying the needs of the company and integrating market research to determine the needs and goals of new
Conceptualizing new product ideas by using CAD software to design
Lead the testing of products throughout the design process to troubleshoot any potential
Lead the sourcing on different materials, design tolerances, and other factors to find the best ones that suit the new product
Lead the delivery product specifications and procedures for prototype manufacture, assemble and
Analyzing existing products to identify areas for improvement and updating current
Implementation of engineering systems and controls

Product Development Engineer Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related
A Master's degree in Engineering may be
Previous experience in product protoype
Industry-specific product experience may be
Good working knowledge of mechanical design, fluid dynamics design, materials, and quality control
Experience with 3D modeling software and report writing
Strong communication and teamwork
Excellent math, creativity, and problem-solving
