Mechanical Design Engineer (Industry)
Full Time - Permanent

Responsible for the mechanical design
Collaborate with procurement, production, suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials, components, and systems for integration into the overall design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical & electrical engineers, and hydrogen technology experts to conceptualise, design, and develop hydrogen fuel systems for industrial applications, also including BOM control.
Utilise CAD software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of components, assemblies, and systems, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to industry standards.
Liaise effectively with procurement team to ensure design release to purchase order process is both effective and efficient.
Coordinate with the Chief Designer (mechanical) in line with the company’s Design Standards
Participate in design reviews (featuring Chief Design Engineers and wider project teams) providing insights and recommendations to enhance design integrity, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
Design within guidelines presented by Notified Bodies and best practices.
Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety and Quality & Environmental policies that affect the relevant work areas.
Proven 3+ years of experience in mechanical design - packaging, modelling and detailing, within heavy duty/industrial.
~ Experience of using PLM systems (3DX), CATIA and/or Solidworks
~ Knowledge and use of complex 3D modelling skills
~ 3+ years of experience using 3D CAD software
