The Health Economics Team

The Health Economics Modelling team are experts in creating intuitive scientifically robust and clinically appropriate models. They are the team clients come to when they require specialist modelling expertise. They excel across all model types, and are recognised experts In creating new models which translate complex problems clearly and transparently.

The role

Senior Health Economists are responsible for efficient, high quality project management and execution on health economics (HE) and cross-collaborative projects. They are expected to provide subject-matter technical expertise as relevant across company projects and proposals and contribute to internal initiatives to improve the way the company works.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Senior Health Economist include:

  • Act as the technical lead on health economic projects/health economic project tasks withclients
  • Lead on conceptualisation and design of economic models with principal/director support as necessary
  • Manage and support the development of high-quality and relevant economic models, technical reports and user guides
  • Responsible for quality review and validation of project deliverables
  • Lead on technical model training for our clients
  • Work collaboratively with the HE team and other business units across HEOR, as well as with clients and external collaborators
  • Actively participate in research dissemination including publication and presentation of research
  • Embed HE principles across projects, ensuring deliverables are consistently and clearly communicated
  • Proposal development and contributing to project pitches as required
  • Responsible for account development and partnership building to identify new opportunities for organic sales through follow on work
  • Contribute to internal training and development initiatives aligned to specific technical expertise/experience and designed to upskill the HE and wider team
  • Support health economists and associate health economists by ensuring clear communication of tasks and expectations and working through challenges and issues collaboratively
  • Provides timely and relevant feedback to project teams on deliverables
  • Comply with all internal reporting and project management systems, ensuring relevant information is kept up to date
  • Contribute to internal team meetings as relevant

To be considered for the role of Senior Health Economics Modeller/ Health Economist you need the following:

Education

  • A degree in Science/ Healthcare
  • A post-graduate qualification would be desirable.

Experience

  • Relevant experience working in market access or HEOR consultancy.
  • Proven experience managing technical projects.
  • A proven tract record of developing HR models for the life science industry.
  • Proficient in Excel/VBA. Experience with other languages (e.g. R) desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in business development
  • Growing experience in building client partnerships
  • Line management and leadership experience

Reporting

  • The Senior Health Economist reports to the Principal Health Economist.
  • You will have management responsibility for 1-2 Associate Health Economists.
