To lead on the School’s HR service provision. To contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the Keeping Children Safe in Education through the administration of the Single Central Record and Safer Recruitment protocols.

Lead on all aspects of the recruitment process of school staff from advertising and arranging interviews etc. (ensuring that this is in line with the Trust’s Safer Recruitment Policy) through to issuing offering letters and completing statutory checks etc. Recording of staff absences on the Trust’s HR system and lead and manage good absence management control in line with the Trust’s Sickness Absence Management policy, including conducting return to work interviews, arranging meetings within the policy and setting up occupational health interviews.
Provide a confidential and supportive HR service to school staff, being a point of contact should staff require support or advice.
Support the Associate Headteacher with any staff matters including those that fall under the including Capability, Disciplinary or Grievance Policies.
To process monthly payroll variances, check payroll to ensure that everyone has been paid correctly and obtain authorisation from the Associate Headteacher &Executive Headteacher for processing of payroll.
This will include arranging internal and external meetings as appropriate: liaising with governors, Trust colleagues, parents/ carers (sometimes with difficult conversations), contractors, official Government agencies and other visitors to the school. Deliver accurate and timely administrative services and functions to the Associate Headteacher & other senior staff as requested such as proof-reading letters, collating information & sending out communications. Act as a first point of contact for visitors, staff and students who have a meeting with or wish to speak to the Associate Headteacher Set agendas (in conjunction with the AH), minute weekly senior management meetings and circulate minutes Produce and share the school’s annual calendar with staff and parents/ carers. Support with the maintenance and upkeep of the information on the school’s website Oversee the implementation of the school’s social media strategy Manage the office inbox, responding to general enquiries or forwarding on requests to the relevant staff as appropriate Monitor incoming complaints, directing them to the appropriate places and ensuring responses are provided in line with the Trust’s complaints policy. Manage the reception staff and other administration staff, carrying out appraisal reviews.

Line manage individuals within the administration team including managing their appraisals

The post holder is responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults she/he is responsible for or comes into contact with. Administration of the Single Central Record and Safer Recruitment protocols.
