Workday Application Support Engineer

As a Barclays Workday Application Support Engineer, you will use a hybrid of development and skill to work across disciplines, applying software engineering principles, to eliminate repeated manual effort (Toil) and create automated, scalable and reliable services. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?
• Establishing a Production Support practice/discipline within Functions Technology, driving the agenda throughout the department whilst aiding in the wider team objectives
• Reducing MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) throughout the department and improve stability
• Driving Full Stack Observability throughout the department and role model how this can be used to achieve our objectives and reduce MTTR
• Driving the adoption of Automation, demonstrating how it can be used to drive efficiencies, consistency, reduce MTTR/TOIL and increase observability, to achieve our objectives
• Driving technical excellence and accountability/ownership of the full stack that makes up our services
• Delivering great client and customer service by building and maintaining excellent relationships


What we’re looking for:
• Practical experience of assisting with and maintaining production environments in Workday Technology & All HCM Modules
• Experience in Workday Configurations & Journeys, Integrations & troubleshooting
• Good grasp of Workday Security, Workday Reporting and PRISM
• Working experience in Workday Studio, EIB Bulk Uploads


Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of working in a financial services institution, or in a regulated enterprise scale organisation
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
• Workday certification or relevant training is a plus
• Previous experience in application support, ideally with Workday HCM
