Counter Terrorism Policing Business Change

London, United Kingdom Counter Terrorism Policing Full time

For Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP), delivering projects is not just about delivering improvements. It’s about keeping millions of people safe across the UK. Our Business Change Team supports a portfolio of projects and programs that will help better protect our country. The Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) Business Change Team has an exciting opportunity to help deliver our portfolio of change across the CTP network.

Joining our rapidly growing Business Change team, we’re looking for a Business Change Lead to help our business understand, prepare, adopt and embed highly complex and diverse change. It’s your chance to play a part in a challenge that’s as important as it gets: protecting the UK and its communities.

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic team member with strong knowledge and experience of the theory and practical application of Change Management. As a Business Change Lead you will be responsible for leadership of application of the Business Change framework, tools and methodology to complex projects and programmes to implement sustainable change across the national Counter Terrorism Policing Network.

You will have a varied role, where no two days are the same. You will join the team with a good understanding of change management, but you will have opportunities and support to grow and develop your skills further to become a specialist in your field. You will work as part of a busy team, supporting the Head of Business Change, leading, and developing a team of Business Change Managers, and working closely with our change network and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of the theory and practical application of Change Management, ideally using established change management methodologies (for example, Prosci, APMG Change Management)
  • Ability to provide evidence-based assessments on the impacts of change and the success of change interventions
  • Ability to interact, negotiate and build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to provide effective challenge to leaders across the organisation in order to lead change and improve service delivery and to inform and influence decision making
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including experience in developing concise briefings for senior leaders
  • Proven leadership and management skills and experience, with ability to coach and support staff development
  • Confidence and initiative to plan and prioritise your efforts and to work both independently and collaboratively to tight deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills in the use of Microsoft products, especially MS Word and PowerPoint.

You might have some experience:

Working for a (local) government, security agency or within a policing environment

Experience and knowledge of knowledge of benefits identification, tracking and realisation processes and techniques, within a large project/programme/portfolio or business environment

Please note, the attached doc is used as a framework to review and manage performance when an individual is in post, and therefore not all skills and experience are required from the outset . We are looking for someone who can demonstrate some of these skills and is willing to learn and achieve these objectives.

CTP aims to create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere and culture and an environment where all our people feel a strong sense of belonging and are well supported to reach their full potential. We feel that any group or individual will be respected, supported, and valued to fully participate and contribute to our mission of “Working to keep people safe from Terrorism”. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in our numerous WIDE (Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality) activities and projects. With our commitment to creating an inclusive working environment, we welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are seeking flexible working arrangements and including part time working or job share.

We believe we offer fascinating roles at the heart of protecting the UK public. As part of our team, you can expect a range of benefits as well as the chance to develop. Some of these benefits include ‘flexi time’ (TOIL), flexible working, training courses, generous annual leave allowance, impressive pension and many more
